A Steward is a person that dictates known knowledge to individuals who are less informed or knows nothing about the topic at point. Being able to learn the history of the island and projecting it back to the community of what we learned is not only a great opportunity but a privilege. We have walked the Free Gut areas, of Christiansted and Frederiksted. We have learned the history of both forts, Christanvaern and Fort Frederik. Along with the life of the Indians that Christopher Columbus met and interacted with at Salt River Bay.
We hope the information that we share with you through this blog is stimulating and informative and it is inspiring enough for you to take a visit to our beautiful island if you don't already live here.
We are the first stewards and ambassadors of a teen program started by the St.Croix National Park Service and Inner Changes. We all currently attending the St.Croix Educational Complex from tenth to twelfth grade. The purpose of our program is to learn the rich history of St.Croix and share it with others. Our knowledge goes back to the arrival of the enslaved people and even further back to the indians of the island. This program allowed us to experience the history of our island at first hand.
